Installation
wget -c http://www.dovecot.org/releases/1.2/dovecot-1.2.1.tar.gz tar zxvf dovecot-1.2.1.tar.gz cd dovecot-1.2.1 ./configure make make install
Useradd
useradd dovecot -g mail
Configuration
cp dovecot-example.conf dovecot.conf
Edit dovecot.conf and change this values:
disable_plaintext_auth = no ssl = no mail_location = maildir:/var/spool/mail/%u:INBOX=/var/spool/mail/%u/.INBOX
Check
To check dovecot for Non Default Configuration
dovecot -n
To see the Full Configuration:
dovecot -a
Run
dovecot
Test
